Job Summary:

PCU Nights Registered Nurse provides high-acuity nursing care in a Progressive Care/Stepdown environment, managing patients with complex cardiovascular needs. The role supports safe, evidence-based care during night 12-hour shifts with unit-based floating as required.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition and develop individualized nursing care plans for PCU/stepdown patients.
• Monitor telemetry and vital signs, interpret changes, and escalate concerns promptly.
• Administer medications and therapies according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Perform and document nursing interventions aligned with NIH and trauma/neuro screening requirements as applicable.
• Coordinate care by communicating with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and oncoming staff to ensure continuity.
• Participate in required onboarding orientation and complete unit modules/transcripts on-site.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license (compact/alternate acceptance required; obtain if not already held).
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Meet NIH certification/competency requirements (NIH required).
• Possess CPI certification or be prepared to obtain/maintain as required.
• Demonstrate Cardiovascular experience appropriate for a PCU/stepdown setting.
• Provide strong clinical judgment with the ability to float within scope when needed.
