Job Summary:

The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality mammography radiologic procedures to support diagnostic interpretation. The role ensures safe, efficient patient care through education, accurate documentation, and strict regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Operate the women’s health section of radiology to ensure smooth daily workflow.
• Perform mammography exams according to department protocols and radiologist instructions.
• Adhere to FDA guidelines and maintain required records for accreditation processes and inspections.
• Complete daily QA and schedule preventive maintenance to support imaging reliability.
• Practice radiation safety and follow ALARA principles while operating equipment per manufacturer recommendations.
• Verify patient identifiers, review medical history, obtain informed consent, and prepare required paperwork and prior studies for interpretation.

Qualifications:

• Hold ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).
• Complete an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within the required timeframe.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of mammography imaging procedures.
• Operate mammography equipment consistently and troubleshoot issues, escalating to service engineers when needed.
• Maintain proficiency with electronic records systems, including PACS and RIS/HIS.
