Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technologist (MLT or MT) is responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests, ensuring accurate reporting of results to support patient diagnosis and treatment. The role includes maintaining laboratory operations, quality assurance, and equipment upkeep, under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Perform complex laboratory tests across various areas including hematology, immunohematology, microbiology, chemistry, and microscopy in accordance with established protocols.
• Conduct phlebotomy procedures such as arterial, capillary, and venipunctures, applying age-specific techniques.
• Calibrate, standardize, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to maintain optimal performance.
• Prepare, validate, and report laboratory test results promptly, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, reagents, and safety standards following safety protocols and infection control practices.
• Assist in developing and updating laboratory policies, and provide orientation and training to new staff and students.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
• Possess certification or be eligible for certification/registration as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician (AMT or ASCP).
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory principles, techniques, and equipment.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintain visual acuity correctable to 20/20 and color vision for precise testing.
