Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technologist (MLT or MT) is responsible for performing laboratory tests and reporting accurate results to assist in diagnosis and treatment. They also support laboratory operations, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance under supervision. Certification and independent judgment are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Perform complex tests in hematology, immunohematology, immunology, bacteriology, microscopy, routine chemistry, and therapeutic drug monitoring according to established protocols.
• Conduct phlebotomies, including arterial, capillary, and venipunctures, following age-specific guidelines.
• Calibrate, standardize, and maintain laboratory instruments, troubleshooting as needed to ensure optimal operation.
• Validate and report test results accurately and promptly to healthcare providers.
• Assist in developing and updating laboratory policies, procedures, and manuals.
• Support training of students and new staff; research and implement new procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
• Certification or registry eligibility as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Knowledgeable in laboratory principles, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and ability to work in limited spaces with interruptions.
