Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Nurse provides specialized nursing care to women during childbirth, including high-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and neonatal care. This role requires collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health before, during, and after delivery.
• Assist with sterile speculum exams, non-stress tests (NST), reflex checks, and sterile vaginal exams.
• Utilize external fetal monitoring (EFM), administer medications, and manage IVs.
• Support high-risk deliveries, including forceps, vacuum assistance, and C-section procedures.
• Provide neonatal and postpartum care, including pain management and surgical case support (e.g., cervical cerclage).
• Maintain compliance with clinical protocols and uphold patient safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid license in Kansas or a compact state, with no pending license issues.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NRP.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-risk pregnancies and perform obstetric procedures.
• Experience with external fetal monitoring, IV administration, and surgical support preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
