Job Description
Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, the Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. They develop individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical standards and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Screen, assess, and diagnose patients with speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing impairments.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing standardized assessments and evidence-based methodologies.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust therapies accordingly, and document outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide education, counseling, and support to patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members regarding treatment strategies and progress.
- Ensure accurate documentation of services, treatment minutes, and discharge summaries in electronic health records.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and clinical reviews to enhance patient care and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Hold current ASHA certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist and valid Missouri State licensure.
- Possess a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a Medicaid- or Medicare-regulated setting; LTC or rehab experience preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing standardized assessments and evidence-based treatment techniques.
- Ability to supervise and support CFY or student clinicians as needed.
- Maintain compliance with ASHA, state, and facility practice standards and ethics.
- Ability to obtain necessary DME or supplies in accordance with clinical requirements.
