Job Description
Job Summary:
The Charge Nurse provides essential leadership and clinical oversight in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting. This role supports the Director of Nursing by coordinating resident care, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring quality standards are met to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate nursing care for residents during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with facility policies and standards.
- Supervise and support nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care plans while engaging residents and families in education and decision-making.
- Assist in administrative tasks and provide backup support for the Director of Nursing in their absence.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and ensure adherence to all privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to facilitate high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active State of Maine or Compact RN license.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in LTC/SNF settings.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.
- Have current BLS certification.
- Earned an associate degree from a two-year college or equivalent.
- Show a commitment to providing compassionate, ethical, and high-quality patient care.
