Job Summary:
Responsible for providing high-quality patient care within the Step-Down/PCU unit, specializing in acute and post-acute patient management. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate efficient patient throughput and ensure safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform bedside procedures as needed.
• Document patient information accurately using the Cerner system.
• Collaborate with physicians and team members to facilitate patient transfers, admissions, and discharges.
• Respond promptly to clinical changes and escalate concerns to charge nurses or physicians as appropriate.
• Provide patient education and support to ensure positive experiences during hospitalization.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry, or Step-Down units.
• Possess current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork, adaptability, and a positive bedside manner.
• Experience with Cerner documentation system and Baxter IV pumps preferred.
• Willing to float to other units within skill set as needed.
