Job Summary:

The Wound Care RN (BSN) provides specialized nursing care focused on wound management, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through assessment, treatment, and education. This role involves working within a teaching hospital environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and document wound conditions, developing individualized care plans.
• Implement wound care treatments following best practices and facility protocols.
• Educate patients and families on wound management, prevention, and aftercare.
• Collaborate with physicians and wound care specialists to optimize treatment strategies.
• Maintain accurate records using the Epic electronic charting system.
• Float within scope to sister facilities as needed, ensuring consistent patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current South Carolina RN license or be eligible to obtain one.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of wound care experience, preferably with WOCN certification.
• Possess BLS certification; WOCN certification highly preferred.
• Have at least 2 years of RN experience; pediatrics experience considered highly advantageous.
• Be willing to work a 5x8 day shift (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM), with no on-call required.
• Meet the radius rule of 60 miles, with local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis.
