Job Summary:

Provides specialized patient care within an adolescent psychiatric unit, ensuring safety, stabilization, and engagement of pediatric and adolescent patients with mental health conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor the mental and physical health status of patients through frequent rounds and direct observation.
• Implement care plans based on physician directives and patient needs, including medication administration and documentation.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities, fostering communication, trust, and connection.
• Support patient stability by responding to emergencies, managing agitation, and assisting with de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and ensure a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, observations, and interventions.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of 1 year of psychiatric experience in a clinical setting.
• Have pediatric clinical experience and familiarity with adolescent mental health conditions.
• Hold valid BLS certification and a PCT certification.
• Demonstrate compassion, patience, and effective communication skills suited for working with youth.
• Be flexible to first-time traveler assignments and adaptable to unit changes.
• Able to work varied shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
