Job Summary:

The CT technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography procedures with professionalism and a focus on patient care. They ensure accurate imaging, maintain safety protocols, and support departmental operations to deliver high-quality diagnostic services.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain necessary supplies, including medical, surgical, and radiological materials, in accordance with established protocols.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field, instruments, and equipment before and during procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families to alleviate anxiety while respecting privacy and dignity.
• Verify patient identity, review medical records, labs, and history, and observe patient condition pre- and post-contrast injections.
• Assist in emergency responses and monitor for adverse reactions, reporting any abnormalities to nursing staff and radiologists.
• Perform routine cleaning, inventory management, and maintenance of the CT unit and supplies, adhering to QA/QC standards.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a recognized Radiography technical training program.
• Current ARRT RT (R) certification and RT (CT) credentials.
• NJDEP – New Jersey State X-Ray License.
• BLS certification.
• Strong attention to detail, patient communication skills, and ability to handle emergent situations.
