Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting within an inpatient rehab department, focusing on neurological and surgical rehabilitation needs. Ensure compliance with all certification and operational requirements to deliver safe, effective patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care in a medical-surgical and telemetry environment, including medication management and vital sign assessment.
• Perform sterile procedures such as dressing changes and specimen collection, including throat swabs, urine samples, and phlebotomy.
• Interpret laboratory results and conduct patient assessments, including allergy and health history documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, including patient education and discharge planning.
• Complete documentation accurately using EPIC electronic health records and assist with telephone triage and patient communication.
• Maintain compliance with mandatory certifications, including BLS, and pass Pass/Fail EKG exams as required.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in good standing required.
• At least 1 year of recent acute care rehab experience, with familiarity in neurological cases such as CVA, TBI, ABI, and spinal cord injury.
• Proficiency in EPIC documentation and interpretation of laboratory and lab test results.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy, sterile dressing changes, and medication reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of patient safety protocols, vital signs, and clinical assessments.
• Must be able to pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam and adhere to all compliance and travel requirements.
