Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will provide specialized respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in a busy hospital NICU/PICU setting. This role involves utilizing advanced respiratory technologies and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory treatments, including high flow devices, nebulizers, Nitric Oxide, and Heliox, to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients.
• Evaluate patient conditions, adjust therapies, and document interventions accurately in the Meditech system.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain and operate advanced respiratory equipment, ensuring safety and functionality.
• Provide coverage for adult floors as needed for nebulizer therapy, BIPAP, CPT, and related procedures.
• Demonstrate adaptability and teamwork in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with advanced respiratory technologies and documentation systems, preferably Meditech.
• Exhibit excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and multidisciplinary approaches.
• Prior NICU/PICU experience highly preferred.
