Job Summary:
The CVOR First Assistant is responsible for supporting surgical procedures within the cardiovascular operating room, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical protocols. This role requires specialized experience in cardiac, vascular, endovascular, or thoracic surgery to assist surgical teams effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with surgeons and the surgical team to facilitate smooth operative procedures.
• Prepare operating rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile.
• Assist during surgeries by handling instruments, suturing, and managing operative sites as trained.
• Adhere to privileging and compliance requirements, including completing credentialing processes prior to start.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including modules and clinical records, in accordance with facility policies.
• Support department needs by float within scope of practice and to the main OR as required.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of two years of CVOR experience, including cardiac or vascular surgery.
• Hold current certification as a CSFA, NBSTSA, or NCCSAST.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cardiovascular surgical procedures and protocols.
• Be fully compliant with all privileging and credentialing requirements prior to start.
• Have GA or Compact license in hand at time of submission.
• Provide two supervisory references at or above managerial level.
