Job Summary:
Seeking experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurses to cover holiday shifts within a 50-mile radius. Candidates must be available starting by 11/14 to fulfill both major and minor holiday coverage requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care for a 32-bed Med/Surg unit specializing in infectious disease and COVID-19 treatment.
• Monitor and assess patients, manage lines, chest tubes, and titratable drips such as cardiac and heparin infusions.
• Titrate and adjust medication drips, including Amiodarone and other cardiac medications under protocol.
• Read patient telemetry strips and communicate findings with telemonitor techs and charge nurses.
• Collaborate with charge nurse and house supervisor to prioritize patient care and coverage needs.
• Complete initial orientation, including documentation, login setup, and unit familiarization, with follow-up shifts under preceptor.

Qualifications:

• Active Nursing License with minimum travel or acute care experience.
• Level 1 trauma experience required, preferably in a large facility with high acuity patients.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
• Comfortable with ventilator equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen) and emergency procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong critical thinking skills.
• Experience with electronic health records (Epic) and telemetry monitoring.
