Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary occupational therapy interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Ensures efficient delivery of treatment modalities to promote patient recovery and independence.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient progress and communicate findings with supervising Occupational Therapist to modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Administer various clinical procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and use of supportive devices.
- Document all treatment interventions and patient responses accurately in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, and other providers on managing cognitive and physical disorders and optimizing functional independence.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care team meetings, patient care conferences, and rehabilitation reviews.
- Support supervision of students and assist in obtaining necessary DME or supplies as per clinical needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid active State OTA license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience, preferably in LTC or rehabilitation settings.
- Demonstrated ability to support evidence-based practice and clinical interventions.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with healthcare team members and educate patients.
- Ability to document accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Willingness to support ongoing professional development through trainings and conferences.
