Job Summary:
Provides direct patient care in a medical-surgical unit, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate treatment of patients with various medical conditions. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to maintain high-quality care and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, including titration of heparin drips, and monitor patient responses.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic charting system.
• Assess patient conditions, identify changes, and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
• Manage high-acuity patients and coordinate care with respiratory therapy for equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and vents.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and conditions.
• Float between units as needed, supporting patient workload and department staffing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of recent hospital experience, including 6 months in a Level 1 trauma or large facility setting.
• Proficient in Epic charting and familiar with hospital protocols for acute care.
• BLS certification; ACLS certification highly preferred.
• Experience managing patients with diagnoses such as CHF, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, trauma, or post-surgical care.
• Ability to work flexible hours including every other weekend and holiday rotation in accordance with department needs.
