Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides advanced critical care nursing for ICU patients, ensuring vigilant monitoring and support for a diverse patient population. Acts as a float nurse across multiple units, including MS, tele, PCU, overflow PACU, and step-down units, adapting to varying clinical environments.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor high-acuity patient care, including invasive procedures such as PA line and Swan-Ganz catheter management.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and clinical emergencies with accurate assessments and interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and documentation standards.
- Float to designated units as needed, ensuring seamless coverage across various clinical settings.
- Administer EKG exams during orientation and pass to proceed with the assignment.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid California RN license at the time of submission.
- Possess at least 2 years of ICU experience, with large hospital exposure preferred.
- Certified in ACLS, BLS, and NIH.
- Experienced with PA line and Swan-Ganz catheter procedures.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work 36 or 48-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Able to pass EKG exam on the first day of orientation.
