Job Summary:
The Phlebotomy Technician is responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients, handling and processing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation. This role supports the laboratory team by maintaining specimen integrity and complying with all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Collect blood specimens from diverse patient populations following proper procedures.
• Handle, sort, and access specimens for pre-analytic and analytic workflows.
• Perform laboratory tasks including specimen registration, test order entry, and processing via computerized systems.
• Distribute reports, store, and retrieve specimens as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to quality and safety protocols.
• Operate basic laboratory equipment and monitor pending tasks, escalating priorities when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Certified as a Phlebotomy Technician with valid certification from AHA or ARC.
• Possess a valid California State License or relevant certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent patient interaction skills.
• Ability to work variable shifts including day and night hours.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations for laboratory and patient safety.
