Job Summary:
Provides direct and indirect patient care to surgical patients in the operating room setting, utilizing nursing processes including assessment, care planning, and patient education. Collaborates effectively with surgical teams to ensure safe and efficient perioperative care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions pre-operatively and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Deliver holistic perioperative care, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care.
• Maintain sterile techniques and assist with surgical procedures as a scrub or circulating nurse.
• Monitor patient vitals and response throughout procedures, promptly addressing any adverse events.
• Document care activities accurately and comprehensively in patient records.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid CA RN license with Nursys verification within the last 2 weeks.
• Maintain current BLS certification (AHA).
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of OR experience, including scrub and circulate roles in cardiac, hepatobiliary, robotic, spine, or ophthalmology surgeries.
• Demonstrate proficiency in perioperative nursing techniques, including sterile procedures.
• Able to work 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) with rotating weekends and overtime support.
• Willing to comply with Tier 3 travel requirements and submit applicable certifications with valid expiration dates.
