Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments to diverse patient populations, aiming to improve their functional abilities. Oversees and directs the work of support staff and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patients to determine their therapy diagnosis, formulate individualized treatment plans, and implement therapy goals.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions, modify plans based on patient response, and document clinical findings and progress in compliance with policies.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care, ensure appropriate equipment is provided, and facilitate patient discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and self-care techniques to promote independence.
• Supervise and provide guidance to support staff, students, or interns while maintaining clinical standards.
• Maintain clinical space, manage supplies, and stay current with billing procedures to ensure efficient department operations.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current license as a Physical Therapist in the state of Alaska.
• Possess a master’s or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program or equivalent proven experience with ongoing education.
• Demonstrate proficiency in musculoskeletal, neurological, and general medical assessments and treatments.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of translating complex information into accessible language.
• Maintain Basic Life Support certification and a valid driver’s license.
• Complete clinical competency within 3 months of employment and ongoing every three years.
