Job Summary:
The Clinical Assistant 2 provides comprehensive patient care in a rural ambulatory clinic, supporting providers with clinical procedures, data entry, and patient management. This role demands advanced clinical skills, including performing procedures beyond the scope of Clinical Assistant 1, to ensure efficient clinic operations and excellent patient access.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for visits by reviewing medical records, obtaining vital signs, and updating histories.
• Assist with clinical procedures such as nebulizer treatments, cast removals, and foot screenings, ensuring proper documentation.
• Set up exam rooms, supplies, and equipment for routine exams and minor procedures, maintaining sterile conditions.
• Collect specimens, perform Point of Care Testing, and transport samples according to protocol.
• Support patient safety by recognizing symptoms requiring urgent intervention and providing basic patient education.
• Maintain clinic cleanliness, organize supplies, perform quality assurance on equipment, and update electronic health records accurately.

Qualifications:

• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Hold current BLS certification.
• Have completed a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program or have at least one year of relevant healthcare experience (e.g., CNA, EMT, CHA).
• Demonstrate proficiency in clinical procedures, vital signs, and basic patient triage.
• Exhibit strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Ability to operate medical equipment and respond to emergency situations effectively.
