Job Summary:
The Clinical Assistant 2 provides comprehensive clinical support to patients of all ages in a rural ambulatory care setting. This role involves performing advanced clinical tasks, supporting provider workflows, and ensuring efficient clinic operations to enhance patient access to care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for examinations by reviewing charts, gathering necessary forms, and performing age-appropriate vital signs and medical history updates.
• Assist with procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries, including specimen collection, Point of Care Testing, and application of various therapeutic devices.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in patient charts, ensuring all medical data, medication, and immunization records are current.
• Support clinic flow by transporting patients, setting up exam rooms, and ensuring a sterile environment for procedures.
• Monitor and identify signs requiring immediate intervention, reporting any observed changes or safety concerns promptly.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, inventory management, and adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a safe and organized environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; current BLS certification mandatory.
• Completion of Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program or extensive relevant healthcare experience.
• One year of experience as a CMA, CNA, EMT, or CHA, or equivalent healthcare training.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, clinical procedures, and EMR systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills, with the ability to operate medical equipment effectively.
