Job Summary:
The Stepdown RN provides specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care, ensuring stabilization and ongoing monitoring. This role requires delivering critical clinical interventions in a fast-paced setting to promote patient recovery and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions frequently and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient statuses accurately within the electronic health record system.
• Respond promptly to clinical signals and emergencies to prevent deterioration.
• Educate patients and families on care processes and post-discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Valid SC or Compact RN license in hand prior to start.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU and/or Stepdown nursing experience.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred.
• Ability to float within scope of practice between similar units or facilities.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work 3x12 night shifts, including every other weekend rotation.
