Job Summary:
Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), ensuring safety, comfort, and effective clinical management. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans based on clinical needs.
• Monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, EKG rhythms, and response to treatments.
• Administer medications and IV therapies such as cardiac drips, insulin, and heparin, complying with protocols.
• Perform and assist with procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, chest tube insertions, and NG/dobhoff tube placements.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members using AIDET and maintain updated communication boards.
• Float between PCU units and med-surg floors as needed, adhering to hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven expertise in cardiac care, EKG interpretation, and managing oxygen delivery systems.
• Certifications in BLS and ACLS are required.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to perform advanced procedures.
• Experience with stroke, post-cardiac cath care, and wound vac management preferred.
• Strong peripheral IV, nasogastric, and specialized clinical skills.
