Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to outpatient clients, focusing on assessment, treatment, and patient education. The role emphasizes individualizing care plans to support physical, cognitive, and emotional recovery across diverse age groups.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients by obtaining thorough medical, social, and developmental histories.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans based on physician directives and patient needs.
• Administer therapeutic treatments utilizing physical agents, exercises, and assistive devices to promote functional recovery.
• Re-evaluate patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, exercises, and safety protocols.
• Document clinical assessments, progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing information accurately using electronic medical records.
• Supervise and coordinate support staff involved in occupational therapy patient care.
• Ensure the safety, functionality, and proper maintenance of all patient care equipment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program, with eligibility or licensure in Washington state.
• Preferably one year of outpatient care experience.
• Hand therapy and splinting experience highly desirable.
• Ability to evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Demonstrated competency in interpreting patient reports, observing behaviors, and applying treatment techniques.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification within 3 months of hire.
