Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring safe and effective childbirth assistance. Supervises and coordinates care among nursing staff, collaborating with healthcare team members to promote positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor laboring patients, collecting relevant health data accurately.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for women during labor and delivery.
• Administer medications and interventions in accordance with established protocols and policies.
• Educate patients and families about childbirth processes, pain management, and postpartum care.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff, ensuring clinical standards are maintained.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in labor and delivery or related obstetric setting.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NRP certifications highly preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies.
• Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic patient education and support.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, preferably EPIC.
