Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery department, ensuring safe and effective management of maternal and neonatal health needs. Supervises and coordinates the activities of nursing staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor expectant mothers and newborns to identify needs and respond accordingly.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for labor, delivery, and postpartum patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care and ensure positive patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and neonatal care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to nursing team members and supervise their execution.

Qualifications:

• Current a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in Labor and Delivery or Neonatal Intensive Care.
• BLS certification from an approved vendor; ACLS and NRP certifications are required.
• Experience with fetal monitoring and postpartum care preferred.
• Ability to perform complex assessments and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
