Job Summary:
The CVICU RN is responsible for providing specialized cardiovascular intensive care to post-operative and critically ill cardiac patients. This role requires delivering high-quality patient care, monitoring complex cardiac conditions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer advanced cardiac, respiratory, and neurological care to critically ill patients using specialized skills and equipment.
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic parameters, arrhythmias, and ventilator settings, adjusting treatments as necessary.
• Perform complex procedures including chest tube management, central line insertions, and medication titration for vasoactive drugs.
• Collaborate with surgical teams for post-op care of cardiac surgeries such as CABG, TAVR, valve repairs, and heart transplants.
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately in the EPIC electronic health record.
• Ensure infection prevention, use of PPE, and adherence to isolation protocols to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid NJ or Compact RN license required at time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years recent CVICU experience; SICU experience considered if trained in CVICU setting.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
• Proven competency in managing post-op cardiac cases, Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax.
• Demonstrated ability to perform advanced cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological bedside procedures.
• Strong knowledge of ICU protocols, patient monitoring, and critical care standards.
