Job Summary:
The Neuro High-Risk Respiratory Unit Nurse is responsible for providing skilled, patient-centered care to a diverse neuro and respiratory patient population. The role involves collaborating within a team nursing model, managing ventilated patients, and ensuring compliance with unit protocols during a 12-hour night shift.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor ventilated patients, including heated high flow and BIPAP therapies.
• Perform essential assessments, documentation, and interventions for neuro and respiratory patients.
• Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, and PCTs within the team nursing model to optimize patient outcomes.
• Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to start and maintain required certifications.
• Float within the hospital to support staffing needs, including high-risk respiratory and neuro ICU units.
• Support unit protocols, including IV starts, BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license and pass the required license verification process.
• Demonstrate 1:5 ratio neuro or PCU experience in the work history section.
• Exhibit recent ventilator management experience and proficiency in Epic charting.
• Be able to complete required orientation modules within 24 hours.
• Be comfortable working night shifts and floating to support staffing needs.
• Possess current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications; IV start experience preferred.
