Job Description
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in this Pediatric NICU Level 4 and Peds Cardiac role will deliver specialized respiratory care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients in a teaching hospital setting. The position requires skilled clinical management, within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor respiratory therapies, including intubation, ventilator management, and non-invasive support for pediatric and neonatal patients.
- Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans according to medical orders and clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment response and adjust therapies as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, interventions, and progress utilizing Epic electronic health records.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, certifications, and facility policies, including BLS, PALS, and NBRC credentialing.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including neonatal and pediatric respiratory crises, to provide life-saving interventions.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid RRT certification with NBRC and active South Carolina RCP license prior to start.
- Possess at least 2 years of Pediatric, Neonatal, and Infant respiratory care experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Epic EHR and experience in pediatric acute care settings.
- Maintain current BLS, PALS, and NRPC certifications.
- Have excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Be eligible to work within a 60-mile radius of the facility; local candidates preferred.
