Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide expert nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages in a fast-paced hospital environment. Ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and newborn through specialized procedures and high-quality clinical practices.
Responsibilities:
- Administer nursing care to patients in labor and delivery units, following established protocols and policies.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs using electronic fetal monitoring systems.
- Assist healthcare providers with procedures such as vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and neonatal resuscitations.
- Educate new mothers on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care techniques.
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (Cerner).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for high-risk pregnancies.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in North Carolina or eligible for licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience.
- Certification in NRP and BLS/ALS required.
- Demonstrate expertise with high-risk obstetric cases and fetal monitoring.
- Outgoing, friendly, and adaptable personality with strong interpersonal skills.
