Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit provides specialized care for adult patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing skills. This role involves managing complex cases ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor adult patients in a 24-bed IMC unit, implementing individualized care plans.
• Perform IV starts, port access, PICC line placement, and maintain central and peripheral lines.
• Administer blood products and manage respiratory therapies including trach care, oxygen delivery, and non-invasive support.
• Manage GI feeding tubes and administer medications such as PCA, procedural sedation, and vasoactive drips.
• Conduct cardiovascular care including post-MI, cardiac caths, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia management.
• Execute additional clinical tasks such as wound care, isolation precautions, renal failure management, and rapid response protocols.

Qualifications:

• Valid current SC or multistate RN license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in neuro stepdown and cardiac telemetry.
• Demonstrated proficiency in IV starts, blood product administration, and respiratory support.
• Certified in ACLS and BLS; NIHSS certification preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience with at least 1 year of clinical documentation.
• Ability to float to other units based on competencies and facility needs.
