Job Description
Job Summary:
Speech Language Pathologist needed on a per diem basis to provide coverage for ARU and acute units in a fast-paced clinical environment. The role supports assessment, treatment planning, and therapy delivery for patients with communication and swallowing needs, with flexible availability for recurring coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech, language, and swallowing evaluations to determine patient needs and therapy priorities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans consistent with clinical standards.
- Deliver direct therapy services across ARU and acute unit settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe, effective patient care and continuity.
- Document clinical findings, progress, and plan of care according to facility requirements.
- Communicate recommendations to patients, families, and care teams to promote best outcomes.
Qualifications: - Hold an active Speech Language Pathologist license/credential as required by state regulations.
- Demonstrate strong clinical experience in speech and language therapy, with swallowing competency preferred.
- Provide acute care experience or show readiness to manage patients in an acute setting.
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and documentation practices.
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrate availability for weekdays and additional weekend coverage as needed.
