Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in a Medical/Surgical Step-Down unit, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for a diverse patient population with a variety of diagnoses. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient throughput and enhance clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and prioritize care needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Monitor vital signs, recognize patient deterioration, and escalate concerns promptly.
• Document patient information accurately in the Cerner system and maintain compliance with documentation standards.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, including medication reconciliation and care planning.
• Float to additional units as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and clinical competence.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry, or Step-Down units.
• Possess BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude with strong teamwork skills in a high-volume setting.
• Show proficiency in using Baxter IV pumps and Cerner documentation system.
• Prefer candidates with charge nurse experience or willingness to develop leadership skills.
