Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to patients in the IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units, focusing on patient safety, assessment, and acute care management. Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure optimal clinical outcomes and smooth patient throughput.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients within the IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units, following established protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions continuously, recognizing and responding to changes promptly.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in the Cerner system.
• Support hospital initiatives such as ED decompression and throughput enhancement by efficiently managing patient admissions and discharges.
• Adhere to unit-specific policies, dress code, and equipment guidelines, including the use of Baxter IV pumps.
• Float to other units within skill set as needed to ensure adequate staffing coverage.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry, or Step-Down units.
• Demonstrate proficiency with IV pumps, medication reconciliation, and acute care procedures.
• Possess current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Exhibit excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with charge nurse responsibilities or willingness to develop leadership roles preferred.
• Ability to work every other weekend, assist with holidays, and adapt to floating policies.
