Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment plans. They ensure high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images as prescribed by physicians.
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes and positioning them appropriately.
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and findings in the electronic medical record system.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including proper infection control and radiation safety measures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Comply with licensing, certification, and hospital policies, including charting and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a one-year approved ultrasound program.
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Sonography) or as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer.
• Possess a minimum of three years of ultrasound experience (preferred).
• Maintain current NY license; pending licenses are not acceptable.
• Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems.
