Job Summary:

The OR RN will provide specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. They will coordinate all aspects of patient care before, during, and after surgery in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients’ health status through thorough assessment and documentation.
• Prepare the operating room and sterilize equipment in adherence to safety protocols.
• Scrub in and assist surgeons during various surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to any intraoperative changes or emergencies.
• Provide post-operative care, including assessment, pain management, and patient education.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all patient interactions and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid RN license with current registration.
• Hold ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Have at least 2 years of recent experience in an acute OR setting, including ortho, spine, and joint replacement procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in surgical procedures such as joint replacements, ENT, spine, urology, vascular, and plastics.
• Be experienced in scrubbing, circulating, and familiarity with Meditech or similar documentation systems.
• Show ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, multitask, and exhibit excellent bedside manner.
