Job Summary:

Provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Collaborates with surgical teams to ensure patient safety, optimal outcomes, and effective flow of operations.

Responsibilities:

• Circulate in the Operating Room during surgical procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
• Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring proper anatomical positioning and verifying patient identity.
• Operate and troubleshoot all routine surgical equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
• Assess and monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, implementing appropriate nursing interventions.
• Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials according to facility policies and safety standards.
• Document tissue temperatures, verify package integrity, and manage sterile field supplies, maintaining compliance with manufacturer guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in the state of practice.
• Possess an Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of one year full-time experience in an operating room setting.
• Current BLS certification from an approved vendor; PALS certification preferred.
• Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred.
• Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique, medical equipment, and emergency procedures.
