Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care in the operating room environment, supporting surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout perioperative care.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and prepare the operating room team for surgical procedures.
• Monitor and maintain sterile environments in compliance with safety standards.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, ensuring proper instrumentation and support.
• Assess patient conditions before, during, and after surgery, responding promptly to any changes.
• Educate patients and their families about perioperative processes and post-operative care.
• Document all nursing activities and patient responses accurately in medical records.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working in an operating room setting preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the practice state required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional perioperative certifications preferred.
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterile practices.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
