Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients on the medical-surgical unit, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered treatment. Orients to the physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and manage medical equipment in accordance with clinical protocols.
• Assess patient conditions, including vital signs and physiological changes, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Develop and implement age-specific care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Educate patients and their families on health management, procedures, and post-discharge care.
• Delegate nursing tasks to ancillary staff based on their scope of practice and competency, ensuring quality care delivery.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, adjusting interventions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Possess a current RN license in the state of practice.
• Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an approved vendor per facility policy.
• Demonstrate competency in medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and use of medical equipment.
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing is desirable.
