Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients on the medical-surgical unit, ensuring safe and effective treatment in both stable and emergent situations. Focuses on addressing the physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of diverse patient populations, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments accurately following physician orders and facility protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, physiological responses, and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Maintain and operate medical equipment such as IV pumps, glucose meters, and PCA machines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel and evaluate their performance.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associate Degree in Nursing (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Possess a current RN license in the state of practice.
• Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved provider.
• Demonstrate competent skills in medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care.
• Show ability to care for diverse patient populations, including those with disabilities.
• Exhibit excellent communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
