Job Summary:
The CVICU Registered Nurse provides specialized post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients in a critical care setting. They monitor and support patients recovering from cardiovascular procedures, ensuring optimal outcomes through vigilant assessment and intervention.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor cardiac patients' vital signs, hemodynamics, and clinical status continuously.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols.
• Troubleshoot and service cardiac devices such as VADs, IABP, and Impella, ensuring proper functioning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on managing cardiac devices and post-discharge care.
• Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN license in hand.
• Minimum of two years' experience as a registered nurse, with at least one year in a cardiac specialty.
• Strong clinical skills in managing advanced heart failure patients and familiarity with VAD, IABP, and Impella devices.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex cardiac devices and provide high-level patient care.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications in critical care are preferred.
