Job Summary:

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse provides specialized care to pediatric patients recovering from critical conditions, ensuring continuous monitoring and supportive interventions. This role involves collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, family-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor vital signs, outputs, and patient's respiratory status regularly.
• Administer medications, perform bladder scans, and assist with EKGs and blood glucose testing.
• Restock supplies, run errands, and ensure the unit’s operational readiness.
• Interpret telemonitor readings accurately and communicate significant changes to physicians.
• Support patients with activities of daily living and coordinate transfer or discharge procedures.
• Maintain clinical documentation and adhere to infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Valid PCT certification via NHA or equivalent credential required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in a critical care or acute pediatric setting preferred.
• Ability to accurately interpret telemetry and vital signs for timely intervention.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Flexibility to work every other weekend and potentially participate in holiday rotations.
