Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room provides specialized perioperative care to surgical patients. This role involves supporting a wide range of surgical procedures and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgery.
• Monitor patient vitals, respond to emergencies, and manage anesthesia-related needs during procedures.
• Assist surgeons and surgical technicians by preparing the operating room and ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines throughout surgical interventions.
• Document all clinical activities accurately within the EMR system and communicate pertinent information to team members.
• Support staff development and mentorship of new or less experienced team members when appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure with valid state certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of operating room or surgical nursing experience.
• Proven knowledge of OR equipment, sterile techniques, and intraoperative procedures.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Experience with major surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, and robotic surgeries.
• BLS and ACLS certifications, with additional certifications such as CNOR preferred.
