Job Summary:
The Operating Room RN is responsible for providing specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires collaboration with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess surgical patients preoperatively to determine their needs and plan appropriate nursing care.
• Scrub and circulate during various surgical procedures, including GU, GYN, and general surgeries, ensuring sterile techniques and proper handling of specimens.
• Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments and supplies throughout procedures.
• Take call during nights and weekends to provide ongoing patient care and support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Demonstrate proficiency in robotic surgery and other advanced surgical technologies.

Qualifications:

• Hold a permanent Ohio RN license with at least 18 months of recent OR experience.
• Possess current BLS certification; additional certifications such as ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate are required for orientation.
• Have at least two references from recent managers or supervisors within the past 12 months.
• Be willing to work a day shift (4x10 hours, 7:00-17:30) and take night/weekend call.
• Pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments with acceptable scores during orientation.
• Comply with drug screening and background check requirements, including nicotine testing if applicable.
