Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - OR provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role involves assessing patient needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards, ensuring safe and effective surgical experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs prior to surgery.
• Develop individualized care plans, including discharge and post-op instructions, in collaboration with patients and the healthcare team.
• Implement care through direct patient interactions, delegation, and supervision of team members while following physician orders and safety protocols.
• Evaluate patient responses to interventions and modify care plans to meet evolving needs.
• Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly in the patient record.
• Promote ongoing professional development and participate in departmental leadership, education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing or higher.
• Possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice or approved licensure.
• Maintain BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS certification within 90 days if applicable.
• Have at least one year of RN experience in OR or procedural areas; perioperative experience preferred.
• Enroll in and successfully complete PeriOp101 if a new graduate or with no OR experience within 4 months.
