Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room provides direct and indirect patient care while supporting safe, timely patient flow. The role includes clinical assessment, coordination with physicians and departments, and adaptation of nursing care based on patient status and diagnostic results.



Responsibilities:

• Assess patients promptly and continuously monitor condition changes and response to treatment.
  
• Communicate effectively with ED physicians regarding symptoms, status changes, and diagnostic study results.
  
• Coordinate with specialists and ancillary departments to support appropriate evaluations and interventions.
  
• Implement and adjust nursing care plans to optimize patient outcomes and ER throughput.
  
• Deliver patient- and family-centered care that addresses psychosocial, physical, and general care needs.
  
• Respond quickly and accurately to emergent situations using established emergency protocols.
  
  
  
  Qualifications:
  
• Hold a current Registered Nurse license within the State of Illinois.
  
• Maintain current BLS certification and ACLS certification.
  
• Demonstrate proficiency in emergency nursing assessment, triage support, and critical thinking.
  
• Possess preferred certifications including PALS, ENPC, TNCC, and/or TNS.
  
• Show strong communication skills for patient, family, and multidisciplinary team coordination.
  
• Exhibit initiative, accountability, and professionalism consistent with clinical expectations.
