Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (CVICU) needed to provide high-acuity post-operative care for open heart patients, including admissions on post-op day zero. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid assessment skills, and collaboration with the care team to support safe recovery and continuity of care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor post-operative cardiovascular patients and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Administer and document medications, therapies, and hemodynamic-related interventions per protocol
• Perform post-op day zero evaluations, including incision/wound checks and system-focused assessments
• Manage patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including nursing notes and relevant outcome tracking
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care instructions and self-management guidance

Qualifications:

• Hold a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) or equivalent nursing degree
• Possess RN licensure in good standing
• Demonstrate CVICU or CTICU experience with post-operative open heart cases
• Handle post-op day zero admissions with strong assessment and prioritization skills
• Maintain current certifications required for acute care nursing (e.g., ACLS and BLS)
• Exhibit proficiency with complex monitoring, critical thinking, and evidence-based clinical practice
