Job Summary:

Registered Nurse to support cardiac catheterization services across diagnostic and interventional procedures, with additional coverage for IR-focused special procedures requiring advanced procedural nursing care. The role includes bedside monitoring, procedural assistance/circulation, and safe patient care from pre-procedure through recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care for adult patients requiring cardiac cath procedures and related interventions.
• Assist with interventional cath lab and special procedure workflows, including procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
• Monitor hemodynamics and manage intraprocedural therapies, including dysrhythmia interpretation and interventions.
• Maintain infection prevention practices and enforce appropriate isolation precautions throughout the peri-procedural process.
• Support vascular/lines and access-related care, including central line/port care and non-tunneled access procedures.
• Perform and document required assessments and charting in EPIC, ensuring accurate procedure-related documentation.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license with NY license required in hand to submit.
• Possess at least 2 years of experience with mandatory cath lab experience; do not submit IR-only candidates.
• Demonstrate proficiency in both Cath Lab and IR Lab specialties, including special procedures and drain/tube/biopsy-related cases.
• Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Show competency with phlebotomy and ability to place IVs as a required nursing skill.
• Verify experience with key procedures such as PCI, left heart catheterization, right heart catheterization, IABP and Impella support, and pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction/removal.
